Introduction
The Sandbox is an isolated test environment designed to allow developers and those who want to try out XPay to simulate and verify the features offered by the payment gateway without risk and without using real payment instruments.
To use the Sandbox, you need to register and create a dedicated account, which will allow you to generate your own test credentials and try out XPay's tools and APIs.
The Sandbox offers several advantages:
- It allows you to test all features in a controlled environment, avoiding errors that could impact real transactions.
- It allows you to simulate successful or failed payments, manage refunds and accounting, and try out various use cases and scenarios.
- It guarantees complete security during software development, because the data and transactions are entirely fictitious and isolated.
The operations performed, notifications and responses are simulated, exclusively for the purposes of software development, training and debugging.
Before going live, it is always advisable to carry out some tests.
Nexi also recommends testing plugins to verify that the system is working correctly. This ensures that notifications sent by Nexi servers are not blocked by firewalls or other security systems and that there are no incompatibilities with any other third-party plugins installed in the CMS.
The Sandbox is an isolated environment, so it is not possible to simulate the reports produced by accounting systems (i.e. "postino files").
If you need to test the integration of the XPay gateway with accounting report simulations and/or features not available in Sandbox, you must contact your Nexi representative and activate a dedicated project.
